A residence set in the midst of the city is a haven away from the bustling, busy heart of Colombo. The geometric forms and use of white within the space, creates a Zen-like atmosphere. A minimalistic material pallet is used in order to elevate the geometric forms of the residence. A triple height void space creates openness throughout the entire structure, and overlooks the rippling water of the indoor pool dancing in the light below. The rectangular form of the structure is broken up into functional living spaces and a celebratory space along its longitudinal axis. The ‘celebratory space’ is a compilation of living, dining, gardens, pool and master bedroom. The whole structure flows seamlessly from one area to another through the use of openings and void spaces. The end result is a visual that seems limitless, with the eye drawn towards the outdoors.
