Architecture and spatial forms have always piqued my interest. As a child, I really enjoyed art and design, which eventually led me to my calling; pursuing my passion for architecture. The combination of beauty, functionality and openness inspires me to design spaces, which I have undertaken since graduating from the University of Moratuwa.
Subsequently, I was elected as an Associate Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA), keeping me in touch with regular updates within the industry.

Your unique style, simplicity and dedication is remarkable and praiseworthy. You listened to our needs with respect and designed our homes into our specifications. We admire your ambitious designs that are modern and minimalistic without overcrowding the space. This is a heartfelt thank you from our family for all your kindness, love and support you gave us during our work together and till now. Working with Shehla and urban arc team was an absolute pleasure. She completely understood what I wanted and built on it. Loved the finished product which was unique and fitting!
We knew our house would look a particular way but never expected to feel so comfortable in it. You designed and built it with our family at the forefront and we feel that is why we didn’t need to get used to the space at all. It became our home overnight. Everything fits us and who we are. In February 2018 I had asked URBANARC architectural Consultants to help with the architecture of my current home, I was extremely impressed by the futuristic designs that were simple yet elegant, the entire team at URBANARC were reliable, efficient and had adept communication skills, it was easy to trust the people working at URBANARC such that I had left the entirety of the assignment to them and I was not at all disappointed in fact they exceeded my expectations, I wholeheartedly recommend URBANARC it was a wonderful experience and the end result was more than satisfactory.
Initially, the decision to work on our house with Shehla came about because I had vivid memories of her spectacular sketches from our school days. I have no regrets. Shehla was able to quickly and skilfully conceptualise our ideas and bring them to life in her design. She made excellent use of every inch of the land, giving us spacious and most importantly airy and sunlight filled rooms. It was a relief that she and her junior architects were with us through the whole process - from municipal council clearance to selection of tiles, sanitary ware etc and even furniture. They were always ready to provide advice on any aspect of the house. Shehla was also flexible to make changes where we felt changes were necessary, therefore making the whole experience seamless and less harrowing. It was truly a pleasure working with her and her team on our dream house! We wish her and Urbanarc every success in the future!
It was an absolute pleasure working with Sheh, Shamreena and the amazing team at Urban Architects. They really took the time to understand what we really needed (even when we didn’t know what that was!) and gave us exactly that! Building a home that captured everything for us.
